Types of cancer to test
ChemoFx may be used on several different types of cancers, including:

bladder cancer
Bladder cancer refers to any of several types of malignant growths in the urinary bladder.

brain cancer
Brain cancer develops when abnormal cells grow in the tissues of the brain.

breast cancer
Breast cancer is a disease in which cancerous (malignant) cells are found in the tissues of the breast.

cancer of unknown primary
Cancer of unknown primary (CUP) origin is the diagnosis when cancer has spread and is found, but the place where the cancer began cannot be determined.

cervical cancer
Cervical cancer forms in the tissues of the cervix (the organ connecting the uterus and vagina).

colorectal cancer
Colorectal cancer is cancer of the colon and rectum that is caused by a malignant tumor arising from the inner wall of the large intestine.

endometrial cancer
Endometrial cancer starts in the endometrium, the lining of the uterus (womb).

gastric cancer
Gastric cancer is cancer of the stomach, the major organ that holds food for digestion.

genitourinary cancer
Genitourinary cancers affect the organs of the urinary tract, bladder and kidneys, as well as the male genitals—including prostate, testicles and penis.

head & neck cancers
Head and neck cancers arise in the head or neck region (in the nasal cavity, sinuses, lips, mouth, salivary glands, throat or larynx [voice box]).

hepatobiliary cancer
Hepatobiliary cancer occurs when abnormal growths develop on or in the liver, bile ducts, and biliary tract—the tubes that carry bile from the liver or gallbladder to the small intestine.

kidney cancer
Kidney cancer starts in the kidneys.

lung cancer
Lung cancer forms in the tissues of the lung, usually in the cells lining air passages.

melanoma
Melanoma is a dark-pigmented, usually malignant tumor arising from a melanocyte—cell located in the bottom layer of the skin's epidermis.

ovarian cancer
Ovarian cancer is cancer of the ovary.

pancreatic cancer
Pancreatic cancer begins in the tissues of the pancreas—a large organ that lies horizontally behind the lower part of the stomach.

penile cancer
Penile cancer is cancer in which malignant cancer cells form in the tissues of the penis.

prostate cancer
Prostate cancer is a disease in which cancer develops in the prostate—a gland in the male reproductive system.

sarcoma
Sarcoma is a cancer of connective or supportive tissue. These types of tissue include bone, cartilage, fat, muscle and blood vessels.

testicular cancer
Testicular cancer occurs in the testicles (testes), which are located inside the scrotum, a loose bag of skin underneath the penis.

urinary tract cancer
Urinary tract cancer is the general term for tumors in the kidney, bladder and the tubes that connect them.
